We had lawn games set up at our wedding! There were many people that played them. What types of games are you considering for your reception?

We brought games to our wedding (giant tic tac toe, cards, jenga, pool table, etc) and NO ONE ended up using any of it LOL. They all had so much fun socializing and dancing that it wasn't necessary. Although I will say we had karaoke AND our "cake" was actually a cake-shaped piñata, so we did have a few "fun" activities a little outside the norm that kept everyone occupied.

I would be doing the classic shoe game, maybe a trivia. We thought about a scavenger hunt, but the hall isn't spacious enough. We would also put advise card box on each table, so instead of a seating chart, each table would be numbered with a year, we would ask them to put their advice for us, and we would open at the corresponding year anniversary

Trivia or Quiz Games: Set up a trivia or quiz game related to the event or the interests of the attendees. This can be a fun way to engage people and encourage friendly competition.

Photo Booth with Props: Create a photo booth area with fun props and a backdrop related to the event's theme. Encourage attendees to take creative and entertaining photos.

Icebreaker Bingo: Create bingo cards with fun facts or characteristics that attendees might have. As they meet and chat with each other, they can mark off the squares that match the people they talk to.

Interactive Digital Games: Set up interactive digital games or activities on tablets or smartphones. This could include multiplayer app-based games or virtual reality experiences.

Puzzle Stations: Have jigsaw puzzles or brain-teaser games set up on tables for attendees to work on. This can be a great way to engage people in casual conversations.

Giant Board Games: Consider setting up giant versions of classic board games like chess, Connect Four, or Jenga for attendees to play.

Scavenger Hunt: Organize a simple scavenger hunt within the reception area, where attendees need to find specific items or complete certain tasks.

Karaoke: If you have a karaoke setup, this can be a hilarious and entertaining activity for attendees to participate in.

Minute-to-Win-It Games: Arrange a series of quick and fun minute-to-win-it style games that attendees can participate in for a chance to win small prizes.

Interactive Voting: Use technology to conduct live polls or surveys related to the event's theme. This can engage attendees and encourage them to participate actively.

We're planning a cocktail-style reception and thinking of adding a big crossword puzzle about us and some giant lawn games at the venue.

Do you mean games for the guests to play or like the shoe game where the bride and groom go on the dance floor and sit back to back and raise either their shoe or their partners shoe depending on the answer to the question (like who is the better cook, who drives more etc) you can also put table topics or trivia cards on all the tables. Don't worry to much about games people will have fun just socializing, taking photos, dancing and eating delicious foods!

Never seen games played at receptions outside of YouTube videos and we decided to not have any either. Everyone was more than happy to socialize or dance. If anyone was bored with those options, we didn’t notice.

We're planning on having karaoke, a selfiebooth and a photo scavenger hunt. We were originally going to have more but realized that if we had to much our reception would be too busy, and most of it wouldn't be used.
